truly this journey with Jesus all began 13 years ago at a billy graham crusade. with Jesus in my heart i felt invincible and free. sometime within the next few years i heard a missionary speak for the first time; a seed was planted and with time it grew. since i was eight, i feel like missions have been a part of me...truly it is what a Christian life should be about. when i was 15 the thought of international missions began tugging at my heart; however, the Lord still had a lot of work to do within me (and boy is He still working on this daily). with time the call became stronger and stronger...i felt like i needed to listen and feel Him out as much as I need cold, juicy watermelon in the summertime! the Lord opened a door in july of last year and with reluctance i stepped through. the preacher i had been working with contacted me and told me there was a mission opportunity in nepal. after some questioning, pleading, and talking with the Lord, i told him i was in and to sign me up. so now, after many emails and a lot of reading about nepal, i am headed out, hand in hand with Jesus to pokhara to love on some precious children. pray for safe travels, my heart, the hearts of the children, and my daddy and mama. i believe seeing how hard this has been on them has been one of the hardest parts for me. we found out sunday there was a bombing in khatmandu, which un-nerved them even more. BUT we know God is greater; "you are powerful and mighty; no one can stand against you...dont be discouraged by this mighty army, for the battle is not yours, but God's." 2 Chronicles 20:6,15. (Thank you for the encouragement timmy).
love in Christ,
jordan

ReplyDeleteWoke up to birds singing the sun shining and you on my heart and mind. Wanted to share with you what was in my quiet time yesterday, it really spoke to me.... Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. James 1;27
Can you believe that is where my scripture was yesterday as I was wishing you back home. It was def my answer in a loud voice. Got to go and get ready for church. We have the nursery today so we will give hugs and love to them from you and will miss you being with us. Praying for your safety as you are arriving at your destination today. I Love you baby girl and are missing your smiling face so much. Looking forward to hearing from you hopefully today. Love, Love, Love, from your Mama

Never Alone
Tracy and Lisa, even though you know Jordan is following the Lord’s leading
And she is being obedient to His command
To spread the Good News to a lost and dying world
And to make known His name in every land,
We know this time is so difficult for you
As Jordan will be facing the unknown;
But the Lord’s strength and encouragement is yours for the taking
Because you know she is never alone.
The Lord will never ask anything of you
That He is not willing to be right there by your side.
And His hand of protection is something we can take comfort in
Like the cleft of the Rock of Ages upon which we can hide.
Our thoughts and prayers are not only with Jordan
As she travels to Nepal to reach those who have such a great need,
But our hearts go out to the two of you, Lisa and Tracy,
As you allow your precious treasure to go to accomplish this bigger than life deed.
We are so very proud of your beautiful daughter
For her willingness to do her part
In bringing Christ to those who otherwise may never hear
And giving them reason to have hope in their hearts.
As parents, you have done a wonderful job
In teaching Jordan to give to God her very best.
And because of that, she will bring a ray of sunshine to Nepal;
And the people there will know they have been truly blessed.
We love you and your family Tracy and Lisa
And we will keep you and Jordan in our prayers daily.

We are praying for your safe travel and we are also praying that God is at work with the children in the orphanage and that he will use you in a might way to reveal himself and his ways. We spent a lot of time in Sunday School talking about "our Jordan". We hope that this note finds you well.
